Baseball history is probably researched more than it should be. It does tie nicely into American history, but is not so important to merit the amount or research it receives. But as much as most fans know about baseball's history since Babe Ruth, even many historians know very little about baseball's origins and first few decades. Baseball's story, though, is very interesting, and the tale of its development is a story of struggles, evolution and development.
