How
different is a team's record from the record it had a year before? Or two years before? Or more? This graph measures the difference
in winning percentage points (out of 1,000 points) between one season's record
and the record a certain number of years before. It seems to support the concept of cycles, that teams have up years and down
years in a pattern that takes ten or so years to get from one extreme to the other and back to the first.
