These graphs do not completely answer the question, but they do tell us one conception that is almost completely false.
Field size in almost no way affects a ballpark factor. A large field as well as a small field may be the site of high scoring
games because fielders have more ground to cover. The first graph measures elevation and ballpark factor and the second measures
field size and ballpark factor, Each is plotted with a linear regression line, and the correlation coefficient is almost zero
between field size and ballpark factor, and about .21 for elevation. The data used are based on ballparks used in 2005 and
ballpark factors form 1998-2005.
